Inta Klāsone & Solvita Spirģe-Sēne: Reflections of Montmartre in Šiauliai

The artworks on display at the exhibition were produced at the Siauliai Montmartre Republic International Art Festival in the Lithuanian city of Siauliai. The festival serves as an advertisement for the community. It starts off with a theatrically passionate tone. Without French music, the event is inconceivable. Each year, festival-goers from different nations come together under a common theme: Blue and 2 other colors (2019); Dissident Color Pink (2021); Blue Color (2022). Artists from various nations create works of art throughout the festival days, leaving behind on the canvases the feelings and experiences they had while interacting with one another, listening to chamber music, and visiting sites of historical and cultural significance. The festival has promoted our ability to be freely creative over the years and the value of art and music in the creative process.
